R.A Dickey throws 2 straight one-hitters: wins 11th game

R.A Dickey was 10-1 entering the game against the Orioles and after the Mets were swept by the Reds the Mets wanted revenge. Dickey came into the game and had a no-hitter into the 5th but lost it with two outs in the 5th but that was the only hit allowed. Dickey was dominate and the bats helped to. In the bottom of the 6th inning Ike Davis officialy got out of his may slump by hitting a grand slam and putting the Mets up 4-0. Later David Wright  got a single scoring Jordany Valdespin to put the Mets up 5-0.

Dickey's official stats were 9.0 innings 0 runs, 1 hit and 13 strikeouts with only 2 walks, which is amazing considering the knuckleball is a very unpredictable pitch and most knuckleballers walk many batters in a game. Ike Davis went 1-3 with a walk and Jordanny Valdespin went 2-4 with a double, triple and a run.

Dickey's Pitching and the Mets and fielding hitting blanked the Orioles to snap their losing streak and hopefully get back on a winning pace. The Mets are now 36-32 and will play the 39-28 Orioles again hoping to win another and maybe get the sweep against the red-hot Orioles. The pitching match-up will be Johan Santana (4-3) for the Mets vs Tommy Hunter (3-3) who will be looking to get ocver the .500 winning percentage for the year.

Dickey is the leading pitcher of wins in the National League a front runner for the All-Star game. He is also the first pitcher since David Steibin in 1988 to throw 2 one-hitters in a row. Dickey is looking to continue his dominance against the Yankees . Dickey's knuckleball is dancing over the strike zone like there is no tomorrow and he is located a Knuckleball which many people thought was impossible. Dickey's dancing Knuckler has won him 11 and he hope it will win him more and he will maybe get a shot at the Cy Young Award.
